Wind Speed Sensor Anemometer DIY Three Cup Type Wind Speed Measurement Wind Sensor Wind Power Generation Device
This wind speed sensor is assembled with a customized power generation sensor and a three cup rotating wind cup. Its working principle is that when there is horizontal flow of wind in the environment, the special structure of the wind cup can generate fixed direction rotation and drive the built-in sensor to generate voltage, which is directly proportional to the rotation speed. By utilizing the change in signal voltage, the environmental wind speed can be measured.
The maximum allowable environmental wind speed of this sensor is 200KM/H, the maximum output voltage does not exceed 4V, and the rated usage range is less than 100KM/H wind speed. Under normal circumstances, the output voltage is 0-2V.
This sensor is spontaneous and does not require power supply. When there is wind rotating, it generates a voltage signal.
This wind speed sensor is a simple structure with average accuracy, and is only suitable for various controllers for environmental wind speed detection and comparison, collecting signal voltage values for control use. It is not suitable for meteorological forecast level applications.
Finished product drawing and packaging dimension drawing:
The product should be installed in a horizontal position to ensure that the installation position is not prone to water accumulation and is easy to detect in the environmental wind speed. The finished product has rainproof function, but does not prevent soaking in rainwater. The signal output line is about 3 meters long, and when it needs to be extended, it can be connected according to the corresponding color. The finished product has a height of approximately 6.5CM and a rotating diameter of approximately 14CM.
The packaging box is neutral and wordless, with a length * width * height of approximately 155 * 138 * 70MM. The net weight of the product is approximately 60g and the gross weight is approximately 125g.
Wiring definition: The black line with white stripes represents the signal voltage output (0-2V, maximum not exceeding 4V, can be directly connected to the AD analog port of the 5V microcontroller system), and the black line represents GND, which is grounded with the microcontroller circuit.
This wind speed sensor consists of a base motor and three cup rotating components that are inserted tightly:
The base component is made of ABS injection molding technology, with a chassis diameter of 46MM. It is fixed by three holes with a radius of 18MM and a diameter of 6MM distributed at 120 degrees. Three M5 or M6 bolts can be used for fixation. The power generation sensor is fixed in the base, and the signal wire is a two core wire with a default length of about 3 meters. The signal wire is a double parallel wire, with black with white stripes indicating the signal voltage and pure black indicating GND.
The corresponding calculation formula for wind speed and signal output voltage:
In microcontroller program applications, the corresponding wind speed can be approximately calculated using the following formula:
Firstly, the signal voltage value output by the sensor should be determined, in volts.
Voltage (V) * 50=KM/H (wind speed)
Voltage (V) * 14=M/S (wind speed)
If the current output signal voltage is 0.5V, it indicates that the current wind speed is about 25KM/H or about 7M/S
If it is only used as a threshold value in the controller for comparison, the voltage comparison method can be directly used.
The following is a table of the voltage and wind speed corresponding to the wind speed sensor:
The horizontal axis represents the wind speed value (M/S) in meters per second, and the vertical axis represents the output signal voltage value (V)
